I recently purchased a fairly sad B7100 with a mid mounted RC60-71H deck. After using it a couple of times on some heavy grass around the creek I pulled the deck off to check it and see how much luv it needed. after some serious wok it is now ready to hook back up and start using but I cannot find any info on setting the deck height. I get the general principals but would appreciate help with things like the rear outrigger wheel heights and how much the front needs to be higher than the back. Currently the scalping wheels would let the rear of the deck hit the ground I think. Any help would be appreciated for this downunder learner
thanks

Buddha -

I am right there with you, same machine a little different deck, when i test drove the old girl yesterday, it cut fine, a little low for me, but it cut fine. I had to take the deck off to get it home. Now I want to work on the blades and grease everything before I get it back under ( which is gonna be a pain in the royal ass) have to

I will have to "look" at the linkages and whatnot, but the front guide wheels are designed to pivot and the rears have three wheel to keep it level - thus me thinking it is gonna be on the ground.

Now, I have NOT looked by I do not see how this deck is held in a floating position like my BX - someone tell me if I am wrong - ......my BX floats on a pin that stops it's downward set position. The RC60-24B deck seems to "Rest" on the ground....

AS for as front and back, keep the front lower by about 1/2 inch

looking forward to anyone's thoughts on this deck!

Does the deck raise and lower with the 3ph control? Never mind, i went back and looked at 85hokies pics. Looks like the front wheels get shims like a finish mower. Back side on right has 3 different settings for wheel height. Remove the bolts and move to a different setting. Left side rear looks like it has a set screw that compresses against the shaft to level the deck. Looks like a one time set, and adjust and then run with it all season

Yes it does, but yesterday - even with the 3pt all the way up ....the deck wasnt UP....

I got a feeling that there are linkages that need some tlc!

Makes sense, a little wear here and there starts adding up pretty quick. If you have positioning on the 3ph you could set the bottom lock for the height adjustment, but i'm thinking, judging by the picks that the cutting deph is in your wheels. Shims on the front, and bolt position on the back.

Thanks Guys. The deck is supposed to run on the ground and not be suspended. the two front swivel wheels and the centre adjustment roller on the back. I thought the front should be higher than the back so the back does the final height cut?? I looked last night and the 2 rear scalp rollers have 3 sets of bolts to adjust them currently in the top holes so the wheels are about 2'' higher than the middle roller with the height adjuster on it.
might just set it and take it out and suck it and see. with it set as it was the front is 2"high and the back is 1.5"

I did some more work on mine after lunch today......
I need to tighten up the two long rods that come from the 3 point- it seems that when the 3 point raises - it then hits the U shaped sleeve of the MMM and thus raising it, mine is topped out before the MMM raises....

Buddha - what is the model number on your MMM?
