I mowed with the rotary mower with it. First day of owning a tractor, so I was learning. Quickly realized that I forgot to drop to L when I started mowing and was wondering why I kept bogging down.

Switched to L and was able to keep right on going. My dad, long time farmer, had a good laugh at my expense.

Drained 52 quarts of hydraulic fluid from the case on the new/used M9, replaced both suction filters and I'm letting it drain overnight. Tomorrow I'll add a new 52 quarts the the case.

Normally I use Chevron All Weather synthetic THC but this time I'm using Shell AW30 Rotella Hydrauilc oil, my jobber gave me a good price on it, 52 bucks a pail and it's Kubota approved just like the chevron.

It's coming along, I have it all stripped (sheet metal removed and I'm resetting the travelling and pto pack pressures and making it pretty again.

I hate filth. Next is the engine, oil and filter changes, fuel filters too. Engine needs a bath bad and I'm sure the radiator needs washed out too. I changed the primary and secondary air filters right off and the primary filter was solid with filth. Engine needs a good degreasing and pressure washing and I need to pull the right outer planetary on the front axle and replace the seal, it's leaking intermediate gear oil from the center section into the planetary case. Already have the seal, just a matter of taking it apart (6 bolts and the tie rod end) and removing the outer planetary. pulling the pinion and stub shaft the drive shafts are split inside the axle housing), replacing the seal, installing the shim and buttoning it up. Replacing the sheet metal and I should be good to go farming if, it ever quits raining.

The land pride grapple was worth every penny.

I bought her a new ride! 12' suretrac tube top trailer. Picked up a couple heavy duty D-rings that have the same bolt spacing on the front of the tractor for tie down points. Got some brush hogging in last week at my hunting lease and the tractor and the brush hog worked great.

Did the squatters come out and start running when they heard your tractor or did you have to fire off some warning shots?

sanded and primed another fender. need to pull one wheel stud, it was cross threaded so when I ran the nut off, the threads came with the nut. Stud in Wednesday. Mount my new seat and then the outboard right planetary need to come off and the seal replaced. Not a big job on an M. 6 bolts and the tie rod end and off she comes. Clean the surfaces, some 3 bond and button it back up.

Still need to drop the PTO on the other M and replace it with the 2 speed unit.

It was a busy weekend - the L245 did backhoe duty and the L245DT hauled the material away. Nice having two tractors!

Did have one huge boulder to lift out that lifted the front of the tractor instead...good times

A good friend helped me put in 22 t-posts and 30o ft of chicken fencing around the garden. I made a jig to hold the rolls of wire and he used the 3 point as a platform to drive the posts in. Oh and he's 20+ yrs. younger than me - LOL.

Mike9- Man, you gotta shrink them pics- makes it tough to view on the computer, and impossible on the phone or tablet.:(

Finally got my container delivered. Because of the tight spot, delivery guy said I could have it dropped centered in the spot, or located front to back where I wanted it, but not both. I opted for centered, which he hit right on, but he had to place it about
2 1/2' back further than I wanted.
Got out a 4000lb come-along and some chain, jacked up the corners, and placed a piece of sheet plastic on a 4x4 under each corner. It slid fine for about 5", then stopped. I kept pulling, until the come-along broke. Turns out the (cheap) cable pulley had split, wedging the cable- that's why it stopped.
Re-rigged using the HighLift jack as a winch, and it slid right into place. Leveled it on blocks, and proceeded to place border rocks & driveway cinders. I also sealed the floor. Next I will strip off the stickers, (lots of them) and paint it Olive Drab.
