Synthetic 5w40 vrs Dino 10w30 in Kubota M5700

I am wanting to switch from using rotella T5 10w30 to Shell Rotella Synthetic T6 5W-40 Motor Oil. My manual calls for 10w30 or 30w for my area (mostly hot and humid, lows in the 30 degree range) Is there any problem or issue using the Shell Rotella Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil in my tractor...

B7100 HST Fluid in front Axle

When I had my B7100 the manual called for 80-90 wt. gear, and may have also had UDT as a choice, but on the UDT I'm not certain, it's been a long time ago. I always used 80-90 wt. gear oil and never had any issues even after 2000+ hours on the clock. I hope this helps... Joe

W5021 SC - broken Self Propelled

I have a W5021 SC that was working great and it suddenly quit pulling, the driveshaft stopped turning. I took the engine apart and discovered there was a cotter pin that had broken, that is all that stops the driveshaft from becoming disengaged from the drive gear. Once the cotter pin fell out...

    zd21 deck lubrication

On my ZD28 the zerks are below each spindle pulley. If you haven't cleaned under the pulley covers they can be hard to see as they are easily covered by grass clipping, etc. Take your fingers and wipe around the area under the pulleys and you will find them if your deck is like mine and I think...

I have a ZD 28f mower with a 72" mower deck I purchased new and have 100 hours on it. The mower has always had this issue of the hydraulics squealing and struggling when lifting the deck at mowing rpms, it does not matter if the mower is hot or cold. However, at idle the mower will lift the...

    B7100HST Question

I had a B7100 and could remove and clean the strainers without any problems with the tires on the tractor. I did have the wheels located on the axles to give the widest stance for stability. I also had the turf tires. Hope this helps... Joe

    B7100 Brake Pedal Wear

I had a B7100 that I bought new. It did not take long to realize the wear that was going to happen to the brake pedal rods so I cut a piece of pvc (1/2 or 3/4, I don't remember) pipe a couple of inches long, then split it down the middle and epoxied the pipe halves over the brake pedal rods...

    ZD25 Deck wont lift

I was talking with a long time kubota service manager about hydraulics on the the zd series mowers (mine has contaminated fluid) and he told me he has had many zd's come in with the complaint that the deck will not raise. This may help if your mower will go forward and reverse and the pto shaft...

    MB6800-4 wheel drive

I have a M5700 which shares the same owners manual as the 6800 so I think they probably share the 4 wheel drive engagement lever setup . I am well aware of the issue of having difficulty pushing the 4 wheel drive lever down to get out of 4wd. What works for me is raising the front wheels...

Kubota ZD 28f Contaminated Hydraulic Fluid

Thank you all for your help. When I changed the filters and fluids at 50 hours, the dealer only carried the standard UDT not the super, so that is what I went with. The manual specs calls for using the standard UDT or the Super UDT. From now own I am going to use the super UDT. I may add the...

Kubota ZD 28f Contaminated Hydraulic Fluid

I am almost certain it came with the standard UDT not the Super. I did buy this mower new and only have 107 hours on it, at the 50 hour service interval I did change the hydraulic fluid and used the regular UDT, not the super. As I stated, I have checked ALL the fluids on the mower and they all...

Kubota ZD 28f Contaminated Hydraulic Fluid

Thank you for your advice, I thought flushing with SUDT would be be best way but I wanted to get others opinions before using the more expensive SUDT as a flush if there were better (cheaper) solutions. As always, I know the advice here is from experience and from knowledgeable people. Thank you...

Kubota ZD 28f Contaminated Hydraulic Fluid

Thanks Bulldog, I was thinking that flushing would be the best way to ensure all the contaminates were cleaned out. Would you flush the transmission with a cheaper fluid or do you think it would be better to use the SUDT for the flush and refill as that is what I am planning to run in the...

Kubota ZD 28f Contaminated Hydraulic Fluid

I have a Kubota ZD28f zero turn mower that has contaminated hydraulic fluid. Last fall while mowing the hydraulic deck lift would not lift the deck so I checked the fluid level and found the reservoir about an inch over full and the fluid was foamy on the dipstick but was a brownish gold color...

    ZD28 Quits

I have a ZD28F and I agree with Stubbyie, it's most likely a safety switch, be sure to check the parking brake switch and make sure the brake is off and the linkage is working correctly. If it cranks and runs with the control arms out and only dies when the are moved together, then it seems that...
