No answer as of yet. I just purchased the entire assembly. With the recent passage of the health care plan here in the US i won't have to work anymore so i can afford these simple frills without any retributions.

I wasn't try to diagnose the problems. Just showing the OP where the hyd. screen is on his tractor and how to tell when it's had enough fluid dumped in it. I suspect that filling that cavity up to the fill hole would be an excessive waste of hyd fluid maybe even another 5 gallon pail. Which...

There is an "inspection" plate bolted onto the side of your tractor with 2 each 12mm bolts just forward of your brake pedal(s). Remove this cover and the zerk will be staring back at you.

does the upper bearing, the one above the ballnut, come already installed on the shaft? I can't seem to remove the old one so it plows me on figuring how the new one would go on the shaft?

Seeing how i finally destroyed that gear today. I believe i will try taking it out by the method described above. Might have to get one of the younger kids in there.
