    Need Help with a GR2120

When you disconnected your snowblower, did you re-connect the snowblower hydraulic lift line back to the main hydraulic line quick connect fitting at front of the tractor? If not, you don't have any hydraulics flowing to the mower lift actuator. This sounds like it may be your problem.

    GR2120 Parking Brake Adjustment

The parking brake on my 2012 GR2120 will no longer stay set. No matter how carefully I engage it, it will not stay engaged with the engine idling (or at any other rpm...) Not only is this a safety issue, but it is a royal pain as it kills the engine if I am not sitting in the seat. Has...

New owner of BX1870 needs advice

Hi Semma, I have a very similar set-up on a GR2120 which is about 300 pounds lighter than the BX1870. I use 100 pounds of rear ballast (suitcase weights) mounted on a weight bar. The ballast weight is only 16-18" behind the centerline of the rear wheels. Based on your picture with the...

    snowblower problem

Quick things to check; 1. - Make sure you are not over over torquing the shear bolts. I think the recommended torque is 9 inch-pounds, which isn't much. 2. - Check to make sure impeller isn't binding or bent. Should spin freely with the shear bolt removed. 3. - The blower I have is a GR2728...

    Add a cab ?

I am not familiar with the engine layout of the M7040, but many Kubota's have reverse air flow (pulls cooling air from the cab area and pushes hot air forward out the front grille). When you install a cab this results air getting sucked in at all of the sealing edges. At least is does on my...

    BX25 No rear drive?

While just adding air may help stop the problem, the best way to fix this is to take the tire/wheels to a tire shop and do the following; 1.break the tire bead from the rims. 2. apply a good tire seal to the bead 3. re-inflate to sit the bead. The bead sealer provides just a bit of adhesion and...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

Snow update: We are having a nice little lake effect snowstorm here. Very localized but leaving us lots of snow. Yesterday, we got between 22-24" of snow at the house. Just a few miles south of us got over 30". When I got home from work, I had 18" of fresh stuff in the drive. Due to...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

Re: Snowblower Shear Bolts failing - 2014 Redux Well, it seems like the upgraded Kubota fix for the premature shear bolt failures on the GR2728 may not do the job... I just popped another shear bolt this morning at no load. What is interesting is the bolt that failed is not the shear bolt that...

    GR2120 - Changing Fuel Filters

I was doing some routine maintenance on my GR2120 this weekend and decided to change the 2 fuel filters. The one at the engine was easy to get to and took about 5 minutes to change. The second filter, located under the seat next to the electric fuel pump, requires you to remove the left rear...

60" Mower deck - how to get to blades?

The mower deck is one heavy item. I have two different ways I have lifted it to get to the blades. 1. I've used a "come along" puller that I attach to a garage rafter or convenient tree limb. Attach to the deck and it stands up easily, and provides great access to the blade and for changing...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

I talked with my dealer yesterday and they checked into this for me. Apparently, some GR2728 blowers have excess vibration that leads to premature fan shear bolt failure. This problem is supposed to be unique to serial numbers below 21208089. My unit is in the problem zone. The solution is...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

OrangeGuy, I can't wait to see the pictures. I have come to the conclusion that this is a design problem with the GR2728. Despite all of the precautions I am taking this thing is still shearing pins. Yesterday I went thru two in about a half hour... what a pain. Once I see your pics, I...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

I started spraying the back face of the fan tunnel with a silicone spray lubricant before using the blower. I haven't broken a shear bolt since... I was breaking a shear bolt for every hour of use, I am currently up to almost 5 hours on the current bolt. Inspecting the fan area after blowing...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

Good idea, but when the bolts shear the ends disappear... which loses the orientation. I will be finding them all over the yard next spring. I have been looking for them because I would like to look at the fracture surface on the pins to determine whether they are failing in shear/overload...

    Snowblower Shear Bolts failing

To all, First I would like to thank everyone for all of their inputs. This is what makes this site so helpful. As suggested, I went thru the snowblower drive carefully, removing the shear bolts and checking for binding, chain tension, mis-alignments, anything that could provide a...
