My trachometer cable broke. I need a new one. I tried a tachometer cable for a Kubota l175. It is the correct length and fits to the engine fine, but the bolt onto the tach gauge is a big monster nut.

The cable I took off has two knerled nuts that go on finger tight. The one for the slotted end (engine end) looks like it screws onto an 11 mm shaft. The square end looks like it it screws onto a 13 mm shaft. The cable length appears to be 1 meter.

I can not find tachometer cables except by model number. I am happy trying a cable and if it fits, use it. Otherwise send back for another one.

Any recommendations where to go? SSB Tractor did not come through. Their remark was that is a gray market and we do not carry anything for them.

So where can I get a cable?

What you described is what the tach cable on my L185 looks like. I don't recall there is a difference between the two ends.

I ordered mine from Messick's for around 25 dollars

The part numbers were spot on.

The Zen Noh L1501 does indeed use the same tach cable as the L185. Part Number is 37150-34650.

Put the slotted fitting into the engine first. You will need to wiggle it a little to get it to seat. Partially tighten the nut.

Slide the dashboard fitting through the little service port at the front of the gas tank. This will protect the cable from the hood.

Remove the four bolts holding the dashboard down. Raise the rubber gasket at the steering column. You should be able to tilt the dashboard up and out enough to get to the tachometer gauge. Insert the square fitting (jiggling may be required). Tighten the nut onto the gauge.

Finish tightening both nuts. This is a quick hand operation.
