Let me begin by saying "I know this is going to sounds strange."

Last season I had to "jiggle" the brake to get my zd326 to start. I naturally figured it was the brake switch so I replaced it last week. Immediately after replacing it the mower only starts with the brake off it will not start with the brake on. Once it try to move it stalls. I have checked all fuses, turned the connecting plug to the brake switch in both directions, put the old switch back on and the same result.

I noticed if I started it and then disconnected the controller module I could use the mower. So I bought a new controller module. I installed it this morning and same results, mower starts with brake off but stalls as soon as you move it.

Looking for some help. Thanks!

Sounds like a safety switch on drivers seat. Does it have a safety switch so it doesn't mow in reverse?

I can mow in reverse typically. The mower currently will not start if the other two safety features are not correct. It has to have weight on the seat and the steering arms need to be disengaged.

It just will not start when the brake is engaged, but that is one of the safety features usually required for it to start. It only starts if the brake is off.

I resolved the issue. All I did was unplug the battery for about an hour. I guess whatever was wrong reset itself. It is working with the new switch and the old controller for now.

Hopefully this helps someone in the future.

The safety switch will work backwards because of the configuration, replace the break safety swith with a Kubota brake lamp swith part number K7561-62250 and it will work perfectly. Hope this saves someone from ordering the wrong switch like I did and a lot of frustration.
