Yes, I am the doofus that let his mower overheat until it died. I let it cool and added water and anti-freeze. Now the starter won't attempt to engage. The flywheel will turn easily by hand. Is there a safety kill switch, fuse, relay or something that needs to be reset or replaced? Thanks.

check the battery voltage and clean the terminals first. If that’s all good, you may have a safety switch issue (seat, brake, blade engage). Mine was the blade engage, It had some grass build up on the switch lever and the starter wouldn’t engage. Blew it out with an air hose and it started. If the switches are OK, move to checking the starter relay and fuse. i have an older ZD21 and it has no overheat component to disengage starter operation. I believe it’s a loud continuos warning tone when the engine is overheating.

Thanks Captain13. You were right on the money! Cleaned up everything as you mentioned and she started like a champ! YOU THE MAN!
