Hope this is in the right area.

I work on the grounds maintenance department at a university and we're fixing to dive in and purchase two brand new mowers to replace two of our aging Exmark Frontrunners. We're debating between Kubota and John Deere.

Our campus isn't in the best shape, it's very rough, bumpy, and it can be quite a headache from all the bouncing around. Our Exmark Front Runners just cannot stand up to the beating and we've ended up spending thousands of dollars over the last 3-4 years in repairs; probably enough to actually buy at least 1 new mower haha.

The most recent purchase was when we bought a 72" mid-mount John Deere 997 which is about 3 years old now and hasn't been in the shop not once since we had it. Obviously, I think this has a lot to do with the fact that it's a JD and because it's mid-mount. The JD has been a very faithful and dependable mower.

However, we're curious about the Kubota ZD300 series mowers too as our Business department likes the financing options being offered by the dealer.

Our athletics department purchased a ZD360 for their department a couple of years ago and haven't had any trouble, but they also don't use it very much either. During mowing season we use all of ours 5 days a week...theirs on the other hand maybe leaves the shop once a week for maybe an hour or two tops.

So that's the dilemma. We can vouch for the JD through experience, but can the Kubota stand up to it too?
