picked up a zd21 with a pro 60" deck and when I shut the deck off it basically grinds to a stop, and if I lift the deck while the blades are running it will give the same sound. Also while doing my fall clean-ups I was mulching leaves with it and while under a heavy load eg. grass or leaves it starts grinding. Currently in the process of stripping the deck apart, going over everything. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue or has heard of this problem before?

I'd loosen up the deck drive belt, and hand test all spindles and idlers. Or leave it tight, and take the IR thermometer to every bearing, and see if any are running hot...
