ZD 326 Pivoting front axle

I've owned my ZD 326 for 4 years and have always used it with the front axle rigid. I was wondering what the reasons are for allowing it to pivot.

I guess if you are mowing lots of very flat areas the rigid would be preferred, but on my none Kubota ZTR the front axle is a pivot for a smoother ride.

Thanks for the quick reply, G-Man. When I change blades tomorrow, I think I will rig the axle for pivot.
