Anyone have any suggestions on a good aftermarket hitch attachment for a z726x? The Kubota kit is $75, which is just crazy to me since it's just some painted metal and a couple of bolts and nuts. Amazon hitch kit prices seem to range between $15 and $30, the problem is that all the bolt hole layouts for the one's on Amazon seem to be narrow (at least all the ones I have looked at), usually max 5" between hole centers or they just don't even specify what the distance between centers are. I measured the bolt holes on my mower and it looks to be 5 7/8" on center.

N.Y,
I was told it's not good to tow with mine so haven't thought about one.

1) hmm, if it wasn't a good idea, then Kubota wouldn't be SELLING the kit.

2) expand your search 'keywords' and you'll find them for about $20 CDN

3) #2 is cheaper than what I sell them for and I get free steel

It is limited to 250 pounds max towing and not safe to use on anything over a 10 degree slope. If you don't have flat ground the casters make towing unstable and dangerous.

I must be desensitized from inflation because $75 for a made-for-your-machine-bolt-on-kit doesn't sound crazy to me compared to $30K for a new ZD

neighbours have zeroturns....zip around towing 25g fertilzer sprayers behind them no problem.
kinda funny...when you think about it...

To me, $75 seems high for a section of 3/16" sheet steel, cut 3 times, punched 3 times and bent once. Now IF it was made from locally grown steel, fabbed in a local shop, then I can see why the price tag says $75.
Odds are they're Made in China( at least 'offshore' ), unknown steel,50c/hr labour,........

For most made in China things the cardboard box and labeling is the most expensive part. We had computer parts made in China at one company I worked for and the parts cost 24 cents each but the custom printed cardboard boxes were a little over 4 bucks each. They sold for 25 bucks. It would have cost 14 bucks each plus box for USA made parts to the same specs and finish.
My neighbor tried towing a lawn roller with their Ferris once 😁. I saw a truck from the dealer there winching it on the next day.
