Hello all. School me on a kabota zd21 with 60" pro deck. Used 2006 model 700 hours one owner used only on his yard. Asking price 5800.
I read lots of transmission issues. Is this over reported or should I run the other way. The owner is a professional kinda guy and took it to the dealer every spring . The yard it was used in was flat and all hydro levels looked full and perfectly clean. Thoughts. The guy is moving out of state so I am in a crap or get off the pot situation but so is he. It will be replacing our 48" exmark zero turn that loves gas and rides rough. Thanks, sn

Well if it's a "KABOTA", it's probably a Chinese knock off. :p
Now if it a Kubota then maybe it's good. :D

His price is above what most dealers are charging for used units, but price is a variable of hours, condition, location, and availability!

And the serial number will tell you if it's in the range of the one's that had issues, looks like before serial #59999, but the dealer could have installed the fix for already. ;)

The general going consensus is that if it didn't fail in the first few years of service then it probably wouldn't fail. ;)

First thanks for the info. The net is a buz with zd series trans issues. Most were dated 03 to 06 as far as posting dates. The owner appeared unaware of trans issues, said it had been trouble free minus a rear axle breaking last season. Serial number 13704. So unless the dealer upgraded at yearly service and said nothing it's bone stock.
