Your expert opinion please

This is the lightest grapple I can find, and doesn't need hydraulics or an electric motor. What do you think? My only uses for a grapple will likely be moving brush and old hay to a burn pile.

Looks interesting, not seen that style before. I was considering a grapple at one point, but since I've gotten my pallet forks, I've been able to use those to do the things I wanted the grapple for. The design works similar to using a backhoe with a fixed tooth for picking up things. If you get one, let us know how it works. For now, between the pallet forks and the backhoe, I can get by. The 'ole want vs need thing

I have pallet forks, they suck for picking up loose hay. This thing here.....no hydraulics is a draw, but only being able to pick up things from the top is not. The grapple, I could slide up into/under a pile of stuff before smashing down, depending on the style. I am super undecided, If I were actually going to get a hydraulic auger, I'd go with the hydraulic grapple. But they ain't cheap, and that is deterring me.

maybe pallet forks with a 3rd fork, upside down, in the center ?? While it doesn't 'pinch or grab' the brush, you can angle up the loader/forks to carry the brush...

My two cents papa; put in the money for the 3rd function. It sucks paying the $500-$700 bucks but if you do the 3rd function, then later do the grapple, it spreads the pain. I have the Artillian grapple and to be honest I did not look close enough at weight. The artillian system, with single jaw, comes in at whopping 260 pounds . But as a bonus, you can buy a BX sized stump bucket for less than $300 to use with the frame. They are handy (swapping out the grapple off the frame to the bucket is a pain).

The LP SCG0554 weighs only 180 pounds! I believe it has a tighter clamping area too for more loose debris, like brush. If I had looked closer I think I would have gotten the LP.

The grapple was the best money I spent on my BX. It has cut my clean up time by days, and will even help with leaf clean up this fall. I have NOT run into any lift limits using the Artillian grapple. It has picked up everything I've asked it to. At the price of the one you are looking at, you are easily within striking distance of the LP or Artillian.

I went the diverter route and have less than $300 in my front hydraulics mainly for my BX2767 front blade. I knew i had some trees to take down and that cleanup is never fun. I went with an EA wicked pin on style but, I also have the Kubota quick coupler set up. Grapple weighs about 150#. I'm pleased with this set up.

With 3 sets of remotes out back on my cab unit, I just use one set to provide hydraulics to the front of the loader.

100 pounds. I need to get one soon.

The problem with the EA grapple is the SSQA version weighs 240 pounds! Which is still lighter than artillian lol

One bonus I can see (other than not adding a 3rd outlet) would be keeping you from over loading and trying to lift too much! By having to use only loader arms to lift off the ground you wouldn't be able to lift as much weight. Long run it could save you wear and tear on the whole tractor & loader...
