I've been scouring the internet and am coming up empty. The old man has been running m6800s for 27 years, currently owning three open station models. After years of breathing in hay chaff, and two hospitalizations for heat stroke, it's time for a cab for him. Does anyone have an M6800, M8200 or M9000 cab tractor that they are looking to part with?

Thanks,
Matt

How about an M9960 with only 470 hours on it. It's located in Spokane, WA about three hours from me.

Looks like a solid tractor but for that price, he would probably just buy a new m7060.

A good friend has a 90hp MF from ~2005 with a Perkins diesel, and it might be closer to what you want. It has less PTO hp than an M9000, but that's because it has a monster AC which will freeze you out even in the Texas heat. The 6800/8200/9000 are known to have marginal air conditioners for hot climates, and they are one of the very few finicky systems on those machines. I saw on on Tractorhouse the other day for $24k with maybe 2k hours, so they are not egregiously priced. I would at least sit in both with the AC maxed out on a hot day before making a decision.

He ended up finding a reasonably priced m9000 about five hours away. Thankyou though. We're in maine, where it is rare for the temperature to get above 90, but youre right, that generation has very marginal ac. We're talking about trying to find a way to get the ac blower to put out more volume. I have an l3540 which has great ac, im going to buy a bigger tractor when i sell that kubota and my 100hp deere. Im hoping to find a 40 series that is in my price range.

You sound like a person who likes to avoid government mandates! ;)

There is an M9540 series. Nice machines. Neighbor bought one at farm auction about 5 years ago. Cab, loader used in hay field, 3200 Hrs. He's had no problems with it. He paid 18K and keep asking when he's going to go back and pay the other half.

I spent 10 years in the Navy. I like to avoid the government entirely. Actually I buy a lot of government surplus, almost every piece of equipment I own came from federal surplus. I've had really good luck with most of it. I dont buy it unless I can buy it right, essentially scrap value, which covers my hide if it doesn't work out.
