Every once and awhile, I see a parts tractor come up for auction. Maybe this week, maybe never.
I watch local listings pretty closely.
Go on equipmentfacts.com and search your tractor model.
I'm near Wolgemuth's in Leola, PA

I would check with Wenger's in Myerstown, PA.
wengers.com
They have 40-50 Kubotas in their salvage yard.
Last time I was there, it struck me that they had very few DT front axles in the yard.
They're also a Kubota dealership, so nothing is cheap.
I live about 50 miles E of their place.

Call this salvage place in California but shipping may be too expensive!

Tried Wengers website, when you click on Kubota parts it doesn't take you anywhere. I'll try work computer next or ring them up

If you can’t find it there might be a way to repair or replicate the existing part.

I can’t really see how “broken” that boss is but it looks like it has started to rip off the backing plate. I also have no idea what is behind that area or how thick it is but…you could possibly bore through the part removing the current boss and replace that with a steel boss that is then bored out to the inner diameter for the outer bearing race. If there is something on the backside that couldn’t be bored through, then possibly just machine a pocket for the new boss to sit into. I would probably try to make the pocket as large of a diameter as possible and then put the boss in at that diameter and machine the bore and outer diameter (outer diameter might be okay to leave large?). There is a lot of “glues” that will be able to hold the boss in place (green loctite may be suitable).

Or get a good machine shop to machine the whole thing out of a billet of steel. I think you would probably spend more trying to get a fabrication made and machined than just machining a solid steel part.

Good luck!

Ya, that doesn't surprise me.
I was at the Parts counter once a couple of years ago. A 10-foot wooden counter with three guys sitting behind it, on break, I guess...
I priced a few NOS items there, and they can't beat Messick's prices, apparently.

Russell has a good point. They are doing some amazing work these days with the CNC technology. Like, 3-D porting of cylinder heads from seat to flange. Find an Industrial Injection Service (SLC) video on that.
I would expect that a one-off custom CNC cut would be prohibitive, because you'd have to sink all the CAD and setup costs in that one part. How many billable hours is that? [My son does a fair bit of CAD, making custom bracket plans for the water-cut shop.]

If I was RK, I'd hang loose and watch for an equipment auction to come up with an L185 parts-lot FS.
I swear there was such a lot FS a few years ago at Wolgemuth's, because I looked at it long and hard. I think it had a cracked trans case (from ice), but was otherwise all there. Somebody had tried to split it, and gave up. It had no-saled at 3 prior auctions. Ended up selling for scrap price....

Run a Wanted ad in your area. Free in Lancaster Farming weekly.

Do you know where your tractor was sold new? If that dealer is still around (unlikely), they might know who else bought L185s in the area...You just might find another derelict nearby. Your tractor's twin?

Do old Kubotas ever die?

One more thought.

Give these guys a call:
MGD Tractor and Equipment | Lebanon, PA | Welcome to MGD Tractor & Equipment

They might know of an upcoming listing or a prior no-sale L185DT.

I stop in there for a quick peek everytime I go past. Just to scan what's going to be sold at the next monthly auction sale. Lots of oddball used stuff moves through this sale. Best lot I ever saw was a PAIR of Belarus tillage tractors - 120HP diesel. Very cool/old school. Looked iike a WWII design...these two had been used HARD!
