I have an older L2550 with a lot of play in the front loader pivot points. The six pivot points are 1 inch in diameter and have varying degrees of wear (25 thousanths wear or more.) The pivot housings appear to have about the same amount of wear. The previous owner must not have kept the joints greased.

My idea for tightening up the play in the front loader is to purchase new 1inch plus pipe stock and then use a portable reamer tool to enlarge the pin housings in order to create a tighter fit.

Has anyone heard of doing this type of operation on a shoe string budget? I don't know if there are after market kits that include replacement bushings for such a project. I would appreciate any suggestions you veterans might have for bringing life back into this old work horse.
