Good afternoon.

thinking about doing something a little different with the led work lights. If I wired 2-3 of them into a plug that went plugged into the cigar lighter would that overpower that circuit? B2601

How many amps will your lights draw? I found reference to a fuse for the 12V outlet indicating a 10A fuse.

The 12V outlet is generally my last choice for getting power except for something temporary. Plugs often vibrate loose and the contact parts aren't all that great. I do use mine to power a sprayer that gets used one in a blue moon and not much else. My lights are wired in permanently with their own fuses and switches.

Frequently used items plug into "flat two" connectors like on a trailer. There's one "flat four" for operating the linear actuator on the SSQA levers even though it handles only two wires. Using the inside two prevents bare contacts from ever being energized because the switch in the cab reverses polarity to the actuator..

Your B2601 doesn't have an alternator, but a dynamo for producing electrical power and recharging the battery.

As such, it's somewhat limited for alternative lighting, etc.

That said, like @chim asked how much power will the new LED's draw? Often they draw much less than rated.

I don't believe the B2601 has a spare 10A "Work Light" circuit in the fusebox with wiring to accommodate same?

Something to look for as I may be wrong. Check your Fuse Box and Operator's Manual. Should be labelled as such if it exists.

If not, I would go back to the battery and build a new circuit with inline fuse.

I have two led cube lights that have magnets and I wired them to the cig lighter plug. I have only used them twice so far for about half hour each time and no problems yet. Might have been Amazon lights I will check.

For my B, I added the magnetic light bar from Tractor Mikes that plugs into the cigarette lighter…and damn, it’s bright.

They are almost too bright actually that my eyes can’t adjust quickly when I need to back up. Ive purchased some cubes for reverse but have not installed yet. But as is I can mow the yard after dark…it’s not common but I’ve done it several times.

not really cheap, but the install could not have been simpler.

Here is before and after…

My B2601 has wiring under the right taillight marked with blue tape. It is powered by a 10A fuse in the fuse block. I used it to power a lightbar and two flood lights.

A lot if not most aftermarket lights are aimed at (no pun intended) automotive use rather than agricultural use. I find that floodlights are far more useful than spot lights on tractors. It's more important for me to see what's around the tractor rather than what's half a mile down the road. For my Jeep and trucks I don't want to be able to out drive the lights so seeing way down the road is a necessity, particularly in deer/elk/moose/bear country.

Both of my tractors came with work lights front and rear which are far more effective than the headlights. As we know, the headlights are typically blocked by whatever is on the loader e.g. a snow blade. They won't win any contests but they work well enough that I still haven't got around to making up a custom mounting bar and installing the cubes (flood) that I bought a few years ago.

So just a thought to anyone looking at lights. Spots are cool and who doesn't like lots of light, but floods are possibly more useful for tractor work where lighting up a 50ft area around the tractor is more helpful than seeing way down the road.

If @lynnmor 's B2601 has an OEM worklight circuit, that's where I'd start to look if I had a B2601......makes life simpler.

My BX has a work light circuit. You can power a lot of LED lumens through a 10A circuit.

I apologize if I was incorrect in Post #3 (although I did say check as I was unsure ;) ).

Here is an older OTT thread on B2601 Work Light Circuit.
