Today while using my new Woods stump grinder, I noticed a lot more noise that I would have expected from the bevel gears. I'd turned off the tractor and the wheel was still turning when it caught my attention. Listening closely to the gear case when I spun the wheel (PTO disengaged), I could hear what sounded like the teeth engaging each other - kind of a noisy tapping sound. I though it would have been very quiet and smooth. I also heard a light grinding sound which may have also been coming from the gears but it sounded like the bearings. It is a new grinder and yes the oil level is good. Has anyone else noticed this? Does this sound normal?
