We did not have a white Christmas here this year. 60 degrees, sunny and slight breeze. It felt like a nice spring day.
In 2017 it started snowing on Christmas Eve and continued for a total of 49 inches of accumulation by December 27th.

Erie Co. PA Snowfall
December 24-27, 2017

Did someone wish for a white Christmas? Snow began on the evening of December 24, 2017 from a synoptic system moving across the Upper Ohio Valley. By Christmas morning, the lake effect snow began to pick up in intensity. Just on Monday alone, the Erie International Airport received almost 21 inches of snow. The prolonged westerly flow across the open waters of Lake Erie continued into Tuesday with another 22 inches of snow falling. Winds finally began to shift and with the additional 5.1" they received Wednesday, their storm total snowfall was 48.9 inches!

I’m okay with a green Christmas.

Had a lot of practice at the white variety.

1980, temperature at my house was -36F. Had. to get my vehicle running so I could get to work in the morning.

We had snow last weekend and I plowed. It stuck around and I was thinking that we would have a white Christmas. On Saturday a warm storm moved in and it rained all day and night. We have a muddy Christmas instead.

Here in central CT zero snow so far this season. I put on the snow blower early this time - you can thank me now :)

Tomorrow start our trek to FL for 2 mo so won't be thinking about snow.

Not much precipitation lately in my part of Montana. I'm not really complaining although it's a little unusual. It is cold enough for snow.

It has been somewhat cool here on the West coast of Florida, but not cold.
Very pleasant temperatures!

-36F is really cold. Lowest I remember here was -18F in 1994 and 2015. My truck and the wife's car are garaged and did start, but it was a struggle both times.
We average 100+ inches of snowfall per season, but have had up to 165, so this has been an easy winter at this point. Only had to plow our road once back in November.
I hope we don't pay for it in the next couple months.

We had a lovely brownish Christmas with high temps in the mid-60’s. Which was fine with me. Last night a steady day to maybe two day rain moved in so now we have a sloppy mud-fest. But everyone has returned to their own homes so that’s swell.

I don’t recall snow at Christmas here for many, many years. We usually don’t get snow until January at the earliest.

It has been above freezing for the last few weeks and lots of rain up here in the mid coast of British Columbia, The snow we had in the beginning of December has been washed away. The mountains still have snow on them.

Good day neighbor. Water temp at Ashtabula is 41…lake will not be froze any time soon…potentially a good bit of lake effect in our future. If that rain coming thru the past week or so and last night / today was snow, we’d be shoveling for sure…the river is running pretty strong from the run off. I suspect the steelhead are loving it. ☕

No snow yet, or expected, here on the Washington Coast. Last year we had an accumulation of 6" from Christmas Day to New Years.

I asked Santa for 3ft this year. With the warm front we've been having, we've gotten it in liquid form. 🙃

I'm sure that there must be a few steelhead left in the streams. Great weather to get out and catch a few.

It's been about 10 years since I've been there. Loved to fish the elk and the mile streams as well. Quite enjoyable.

The last white Christmas we had was back in the 2009 Snowpocalypse along the mid Atlantic. It snowed a few days before Christmas and 12" remained through the holiday.
Stupid weather forecaster had my hopes up for next week. Must have been drinking too much egg nog. This was corrected hours later to show rain. More. Rain.
