Getting a BX2380 with the pin on bucket and LPBox Blade. I don't see ever needing to remove the bucket for other attachments. How much need is there for a box blade if you have the FEL? Does the box blade do things you cant do with the FEL? If I can save a few hundred to put toward a rotary cutter I would rather do that and get a cheaper ballast box.

Thanks for any input

All depends what you want to do with a bb. If you have a gravel drive keep the box blade.

An FEL doesn't do what a box blade does, other than in the barest possible way. But if you don't need a box blade, then yeah, an FEL does everything you need. :) What is it you'd use a box blade for around your property?

Not sure what I would need if for at the moment. Driveway is concrete, mostly wooded lot. Once I prepare yard for sod, I don't see much need for it.

Box blades work well for gravel driveways. My driveway is about 500' and with an hour or so I can churn up packed down gravel into a nice even spread plus chewing out the grass and extend the time of having to buy new gravel. So my box blade has paid for itself a couple times over at the cost of gravel today. Also good for landscaping to cut up and level dirt pretty good. You may need to do finish raking but for a quick cut up and leveling it works better than your fel. All depends on your needs and how often you use something.

If you have ground prep to do for lawn, may be very useful. You could always sell it once you're done with it. I did much of our new lawn by hand. It sucked. A box blade would have been good - but realistically I was raking and picking up stones, and I haven't seen a good way to mechanise that.

Implements don't depreciate that much - so if you'd get use then buy it. But if you don't have a use for a box blade then makes no sense to buy one.
