Hi, my name is Rah and this is my first post ever, but I have a dilemma. I work for this lady and we tend to cheat ourselves more than the other, She has a Kubota B6000 that was intended for her son but he decided against it. I would like to either purchase from her or help her get a fair price but neither of us knows where to start. it has 942.2 hours on the meter and has the number B6000-74051 stamped into the case somewhere. It did not start immediately but has been sitting for three years that I know of. Any suggestions?

For a truly fair and accurate price, check craigslist and any other local want ads for similar machines in similar condition. Attachments, and especially a loader, add some value. Some are worth more than others. Box blades or scrapers are worth less than log splitters or snowblowers, for instance. Remember that advertised prices are asking prices, not what they actually get for them.

Around here there is a B6000 with tiller for $2500 that has been listed for 8 months and not sold. It is also missing air cleaner parts and has been abused. It is clearly priced too high. I have seen another with a loader around that price disappear within hours or a day. It was immaculately original; somebody got a terrific deal on that.

How much did she give for it originally?

I don' know her cost, it was tied up in a story about her daughter owning the Kubota and scaring herself and trading for a 9N.

You could use Tractor House for a referenace tool but each tractor is different and like Service Dept Vic has always said used tractor prices are supply and demand driven. The over all shape and condiotion of the tractor will have a lot to do with the pricing as well. To me the fact that its been sitting for 3 years the motor may or may not be locked up but it will need quite a bit of TLC and some money to get it going again. If it we're me I wouldent spend a great deal of money on the tractor.
