Ok, I've searched hi and low for a disc for my B7000 to no avail. Saw a hiller mounted on a B6000 for sale but it was gone when I went back to buy it, so no measurements. Found two different fab shops that can build me one. Question is: What size disc can my machine handle?

My B6100's 3PH lift capacity is 300lbs; I expect yours is close since the HP in our machines is the same.

If you don't hear from someone who can tell you the necessary weight, size, and disc arrangement, I'd suggest building one wider than your widest tread and maybe max 6' wide. Limit the weight to 250lbs or so, and you should be good.

I disc'd about 5 acres earlier in the week just to see how the b6000 would pull the smaller disk we have. It did surprisingly well, working a little on the inclines but pulled it fine. Ill go out tomorrow and get all the meaurements for you if you want.

Got Mikeee54's response - thank you. Been translating to metric before I go to the fab shop. Question for all - I keep reading around the web about 5hp per foot of width. What's the opinion of you old hands?

That's what I have always heard with PTO stuff and drag behind, and have followed the rule of thumb seems to work. Im sure you can go bigger and down the 5hp per foot thing, if conditions are right

I just want to cover my footprint so I'd need 4ft. Mikeee54 says he has no problem with his 4 footer.

Ill measure tomorrow morning but I think the actual width of the rear gangs is more than 4 ft. The frame itself is four feet I think. As I said before the 6000 pulled it fine (better than I thought it would) traction was issue, never overheated or got hot....but it was working.

Looking at your sketch and translating to metric. One of the side rail measurements is missing (short rail - other is 48). Could you check that too? Thanks!

TC....I,ll take any additional measurements or pics you need no problem, sorry my first drawing was so sketchy...lol....I thought that was funny.

Outside angle irons were 48 in long cut material before bending, end to end length is 46in after bend, both left and right measure the same.

Inside angle irons are 43 in long cut before bending and 41 end to end after bend. (on sketch looks like a 7 but should be a 3 SORRY).

Each gang of 4 discs measure the same approx. 24 inches in length. The front set of gangs measure 48 in wide, the back set measure 60" wide

I also have a JD750 which is 20hp and 49in width and it pulls this disc all day long, I think your 7100 is 17 hp my 6000 is 14 hp. the 5hp per foot prolly covers all soil conditions I don't live in Thailand so I am sure you have heavier soil, but I was nowhere near full throttle on my 6000..............let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks so much Mike! Time to print out some pics, grab the walking dictionary and head to the fab shop. Again, thank you!
