The cooling fan is wobbly with lots of play in the water pump pulley, and coolant is leaking through the weep hole on my B7200. It needs a water pump.

I can replace the defective pump with a genuine Kubota water pump for around $250 from Messicks, Colemans, etc. Pricey.

I can replace the defective pump with a no-name aftermarket water pump for around $50 from Amazon, Ebay, etc. Much less costly, but I'm concerned about the quality (or lack thereof) of these pumps.

Or I can repair/rebuild the defective pump with a genuine Kubota bearing/shaft and seal from Messicks, Colemans, etc. for about 75 bucks. Doing this doesn't look to be any different from water pumps I've repaired before. Just need a decent hydraulic press and some extra time.

Any additional thoughts on which repair might be the most desirable?

So ......... it boils down to $50 , and a huge MAYBE - or $75 and you know how to do and will know if correctly done- but it will require some time.

I vote for the $75 way!

Junkman I do believe you just answered your own question. OEM parts= fix. Alternative aftermarket parts= dangit! Your choice, but I would go OEM all day long. Been there done that.

I agree with the $75 fix. I replaced the pump on my original B7200 some years ago but used a genuine Kubota part. Parts seemed to be a lot more reasonably priced back then. I replaced the hydraulic pump in 2014 for under $500 and it was going for over $1300 about six years later. One reason I converted my new BH77 hoe to a self-contained off the shelf pto pump so as not to add wear to the tractor pump.
