Recently, had a small fire occur on top of my L4240 due to a rat nest! I was able to quickly extinguish. Engine overheat warning and digital engine temperature indicators will not go back to normal readings, even when completely cool. I've replaced a couple of rubber hoses on top of engine that were damaged and use the tractor with no problems but I would like to be able to reset the warning light and temperature gauge to accurately reflect the temperature of the engine. Is there a sensor on top of the engine that was damaged? I'm hoping for a easy fix by resetting....

Are you sure they haven't chewed, or have burnt the wiring to the temp sender?

Here is the reset for service light, maybe it will work for temp.

SERVICE INSPECT warning, push in both the display mode button and travel speed button for 2 seconds while you are in the hour meter mode.

If all else fails pull the battery for a minute?

Looks like the wires go direct to the panel.
