The manual for my L3200 says max size rear mount snow blower is 60 inches but I'm finding people are using as big as a 68 inch. Would there really be a problem with performance of any kind if I used a blower larger than 60in?

Remember that snow aint all light and fluffy when you get it into the machine and it will clog and just be a nasty thing clearing it up.. Yes you could run a bugger one and if the conditions are right it will work well just remember you have a small tractor and sometimes bigger aint always better,, Just MHO you understand

AJTWR,
Just make sure that any snow blower you get is rated for less then PTO HP that your tractor has to offer, and also check weigh of the blower, some are too heavy to work well on a compact tractor.
You also should base your pick on the width of the tractor, does little good to have a 60" blower if your tractor foot print is 66".
A good blower will have a opening of a certain size like 60" then it will have wings to make it wider, the plus to this design is that in good to normal conditions you can be wider and when faced with wet or packed snow you can remove the wings to bring it back down to a more manageable size.
Also remember it's not only the width but depth and density that effects the HP required to run it efficiently, safely and properly!
You might be able to handle 68" in 9 out of 10 snow storms, but the 1 that you can't handle is the one you really need it to handle without a hitch!;)
