Using Older implements on subcompact

I have several implements that fit a Ford 641 workmaster. Disc, cultivator, blade, subsoiler, single bottom plow, finish mower, and pond scoop. I just spoke to my local dealer and he said that most likely everything but my finish mower wont work on a BX 80 series tractor. He said most likely that I would have to go up to a L series for the implements to fit properly.

Can these old implements be used or will they need to be adapted to fit or are they simply useless on a subcompact BX 80 series?

I think most of your implements will work fine, except maybe the subsoiler. The BX is a fairly light tractor, so it's not going to have the traction that a larger machine would. Also, you won't have draft control, so pulling a plow won't be as effective, however, if you understand the limitations I believe you would be pleasantly surprised. I like using a larger blade with my BX-25D, and I use a five foot box blade.
Your dealer isn't giving you bad advice, but if you can accept that some jobs will take longer, that you can't plow eight inches deep with one pass on hard packed ground then I would try what you have.

Load the tiers first and wheel weights, and 4 wheel drive, and like BX said try it slow and easy,, and see where it takes you. Some things maybe a little large but then I have seem some BX's pulling stuff you wouldnt think they could, and doing a fair job of it. Remember you will run out of traction long before you run out of power because the BX is a light machine, and dont let anyone tell you they are just over sized lawn mowers,, Good luck and some pictures too,,, We love our tractor porn :D

I had 8Ns and went to a B2650 cab and the dealer said my implements would/should fit. They did not tell me I would have to modify most: change pins from outside to inside orientation, cut a slot in steel lip on blade to access inside pins, different length top links.
Took some doing but got most of my old implements to work. Had one back blade that would not work at all so sold it with 8N.

I hope they work for you but if not hey I am NC and can make a drive over and get them out of your way:)

My implements were all fast hitch so I had to covert over to 3 point took some time finding the parts but all now hook up to my L4600.

Life is good and I found the 3 point attachments on old equipment local farmers had on implements no longer being used. Little sweat, blood, and busted knuckles and I was back up and running.

Good luck.

Most of the implements for your Ford will be too large for a BX to properly handle.
You would be far better off going up to a B or even better a small L if you want to use what you have. ;)

L is the size that most closely matches the 8n. Grandfather bought new in 52. 2 bottom plow needed modified because ford lower arms were longer. Disc and mower (bush hog) will be to large for smaller BX.
