So I've got about 3 acres, 2 of which is pasture. I'm needing something to keep it mowed down. I plan to mow every 3 weeks or so, so it falls somewhere between yard mowing and mowing brush. Everything is flat, and I'm not planning on getting a bucket, so no need for 4x4. I'm trying so spend under $3000.

I've found several b6100s for that price, and also a couple of L185s. Is a b6100 big enough to run a 4' mower, or do I need to step up to something larger? Any suggestions for something in my range that would do this would be appreciated.

B6100 has a reversed pto (counter clockwise) so you would need a reverser for pto for most implements. L185 would handle a 4ft bush hog with out any trouble. Added about 300lbs weight to my l1501 which is the same size, and handles the bush hog, or a 60" finish mower with ease

No the B6100 doesn't have a reverse PTO, your thinking of a B6000, completely different animal! ;)

And yes a B6100 will handle a 4 foot mower.
