Definitely keep your eyes on local CL and FB Marketplace for equipment and be ready to run.

By dumb luck, I found a Woods BSSP-60 about2 hours from me. Looked like it had never been used, and I got it for $900. I did have to haul my tractor in order to load it, as the seller had already sold his. It’s a 514# beast and the paint was still shiny, for a couple hundred less than a light weight one from the farm store.

Stay patient, it’ll come up. Unless you’re looking for a Harley Rake…. That has eluded me, so far.

I've been looking for a 3 point set of discs for 2 years. When I started, I could have bought a 6'-6.5' from Rural King or TSC for around $2k. They are around $2,800 today with crazy lead times. Either the price for used was where I wanted to be, but the discs were non-adjustable and angle iron, or they were adjustable and rectangular tubing for a few dollars less than new. I ended up with a Taylor-Pittsburgh set with 18' discs in excellent condition at less than 1/2 of new.

Moral to the story, be patient or go buy new.

I bought an old, used, but nice disc harrow for $1,200 last summer. It's a beast of a harrow and worth every bit of $1,200.

Just be thankful that you don't live in Nova Scotia (I once did).
Even worse! ......PLUS 15% tax !

The problem is called..... "inflation"
It is everywhere....on everything!

Just ordered 2-1/2 gal. Glysphosate for $99.67 (Roundup equivalent)
18 months ago, same Glysphosate was $59.

Worse yet: Isn't that product restricted by Canadian govt?

Yeah. It's nuts. We are actually needing one (zero turn) and I'm amazed at the prices. But....everything is expensive these days. Fortunately there is 0% for 36 so that eases the pain.
