Thinking about selling my BX23S and 'upgrading' to a B2601. Any pros or cons that anyone care to comment on ?

I bought a B2601 less than a year ago and love it. My first Kubota. I use it on my 2.5 acre suburban lot. Cutting grass and moving firewood and mulch mostly. Thats not a very big upgrade you are considering. You did not say what your intended uses are and the condition of your current BX. How it "pencils out" financially would be my main concern. There is probably not a lot the B2601 will do that the BX can't although I am not an expert. Good luck.

When I put in my order almost 1 yr ago, loader weight compactly swayed me to the B2601 over the BX23S. If that helps any….

I've had mine for over five years bought new in late 16 and love it but if you are putting a cab on it go with a Curtis they are way better than the shit vinyl plastic cabs that's the only thing I hate about mine but that's the cab not the tractors fault just my dealers

Over the years I had several BX units, nice little yard tractor, great for mowing nd light duty. However low ground clearance and only two speed HST are limiting factors. Upgraded to “B “ 2601. Much better but still somewhat limited and narrow track was a concern. Briefly tried a B2650 ( now I believe it’s called an LX cabbed unit and found it to be very top heavy and unstable on any slopes. Bottom line I now have a cabbed L3560 and could not be happier. Not that much physically bigger than a B but significantly wider track so much more stable, improved HST that is not only more flexible but quieter, much more lifting capability in both front loader and three point and on wet ground actually has a lighter footprint than the B even though it is almost twice as heavy. Great tractor and I can get into about 90% of the places I could get in to with the B . While my lot is but 1 a re I do work in our subdivision on larger acreage. Pallet forks a great addition and I also have a 72” rear finish mower. What ever you get I strongly recommend a rear camera. Oh by the way I’m pushing 80 and not slowing dow. …. Just for info

I like my B but like said they are, or at least seem top heavy, and I think the operators compartment is or at least seems smaller than the BXX

Would you be getting a backhoe? You'd be going from a TLB model to one where that's an option, of course. I didn't get one so I can't speak to that. Except to say if I'd wanted one I'd probably have gotten your BX instead of the B2601 simply for affordability.

thanks for the info...
just an 'upgrade' of a toy.
neighbour has B2601,so I'd be same as him
no need for BH, have one available next door 24/7,as well as BB,
Have zero use for any small tractor, just a play toy to help neighbours.

My reasons for the b2601 over the bx models:
heavier lifting capacity
higher ground clearance
no plastic trans fan

no, his is a toy as well, just bigger than my BX. If I sell my BX23S,or swap for aB2601, then we can share implements (and I don't have to store them !)

I think your neighbor is giving you small tractor syndrome! LOL!
You can share implements until you cant anymore. Nothing lasts forever especially if it benefits you!
Jay I thought you would be putting a belly mower on that new tractor to cut grass! ;)

While leaving the Kubota place yesterday after placing order for a B2601, I saw a BX23S sitting in front of the building. SO MUCH SMALLER than the B2601. I'd never be able to use the BX because it doesn't have the ground clearance and has the hydraulic cooler fan underneath.

My BX23S has the factory mounted fan guard and I KNOW it works as I've one a LOT of 'burshbashin' in 3 years.
I have 3 other bigger tractors that handle the heavy, ugly jobs for the neighbours

Finally heard back from a master gardener friend of mine with a Kubota BX. He bought from WE in Harrisonburg but is using Beverage now. His BX23 is 18 years and 3000 hours. Has had to replace starter and a couple hydraulic lines. He has the back hoe.
