The turnbuckle to tilt 3 point attachments on the L3800/L3700SU is a scrappy device to use I found. Often, I tried using the back side of a crescent wrench only to skin my knuckles.

Here is my solution: I took a gate hinge and reversed it, cut one end short and covered it with PVC and a nut. The "hinge" will move up and down while in the clamped down side. The turnbuckle can now be moved up and down with no skinned knuckles.

Be sure to keep it plenty greased, that will help in turning it. The grease zerk will not lube the whole range of motion of the threads. Taking it apart for a good cleaning/lube is pretty simple and effective.
