Since I don't need the rear turn signals I'm wondering if I could run the wiring from the rear turn lights to the ROP lights and use the turn signal indicator switch (or hazard button) to run them?

I was thinking about removing the rear turn signal light and replacing those with two spot lights that face rearward and have the top ROP mounted light wired in with those lights.

The turn signal circuit is normally fed via a flasher. Many Kubota models have a spare connector for a work light located under the rear fender and taped to the cable bundle.

I wonder how that would effect trade in to a dealer if you would decide on that option? My guess, the dealer would have to restore the flashers back since it is required by code and at least in my State by law.

Now if you don't plan on ever getting rid of the tractor, then it is no big deal.

Tractors in our State fall under the Lighting & marking requirements for equipment manufactured in 2003 or later-Based on ASABE standard S279.11

I’ve thought about adding some lights I was planning on using the pigtail to power a relay or two. Have you thought about that?

Assuming that Kubota wired your tractor like my BX23S, it's simple...
Unplug the lamp connector, connecto YOUR wiring, using std bullet ends...done.
On my BX23S ,its a 10 minute job...5 if you're agile......

I guess I'm a moron because don't know what I'm looking at. Where would the lamp connector be and what is a bullet end?

According to the manual there is a work light fuse. I'm assuming that one goes to an empty pigtail?

Usually Kubota wraps blue tape over the 'unused' connectors. The wiring digram will spec the colour of the wires. Black will be ground and a male bullet connector. Maybe red/wht (?) female for the +12 volt feed. You'll have to look at your tractor wiring diagram to confirm though.

Anyone know what kind of male connector I need to plug into that existing work light connection?

won't fit...the OEM is a square edged connector, what you found has rounded corners.
What might work , is simply sliding male 1/4" spade lug terminals into the OEM connector.
I'd look on the connector for some kind of brand name, part number and google that information, also see measure the 'pin to pin' spacing, overall dimensions. Try 'digikey' and see what they have (10s of 1,000s) of connectors so it'l take a few minutes to find it. You'll need to order a 'shell' and 'terminals',BTDt for 3 decades

I also need to figure out why there are 5 wires.

wiring diagram will tell you why.....
I'm guessing but, if there's 2 bulbs in the 'unit', both '1157' style... that adds up to 5 wire needed....

The Red/White and Green/White are the turn signals, the Red is probably the work light. Black will be ground. Brown will be tail lights. Get a 12v bulb with wires on it and connect it up to test.
