bought this used old king kutter on craigslist. not 100%, but i think both are made by tarter usa... anyhow same build.
for 350 bucks i got my $ worth outta this BB. i've had it on my 2yr old kubota since day 1 for ballast and ground work. my soil is chert (very rocky) and clay. i did replace some of the older rippers, other than that its held up great!
i actually looked at this same model before i found the craigslist deal, looks well made and gets great reviews.

I have a 60” Land Pride that I have used exactly once....will make you a good deal on. Also have TNT cylinders too. My backhoe just stays on so I just never use it.

I've got the 6' version, behind a LX2610. Works very well. Price, plus being in stock at TSC was the winner for me. Only drawback is the scarifiers rattle when raised all the way up. Take them out and put them on a shelf when not in use cures that noise!

I have the exact same box blade from TSC (KingKutter) that I use behind my B2910, same tractor as the B7800.

It is a bit light. I keep some 12" concrete block on top for extra weight. I works OK. It will stop the tractor if I am too aggressive (wheels spinning, no movement).

Overall, for what I paid I am satisfied with the item.

Thanks guys for your replies. I have operated tractors since the 60's and have never used (needed?) one, but watching YT vids, they look like they have a unique function.

I bought one a few weeks ago and it works very well. It is made by Tarter. TSC had both country line and Tarter and I understand they’re both made in Kentucky. I think king cutter is a different company.

I bought a 5' China made box blade on a deep discount sale..
This from our local chain store for auto, farm parts and hardware..

For what it is intended to do, it works well and was a lot cheaper than other options..

You’re spot on about those clips. Need pliers to move the scarifiers. Pins would be way better. I thought about modifying mine for pins.

Totally agree.

I have finally landed on a "technique" with the pliers to at least make it less annoying........at first I was a little to light handed with them and they were REALLY annoying. Now I just attack them like I hate them (which I do) and for the few times per year I have to adjust them it will work. That being said I will probably order up some extra pins as it feels like a "wearable item".

I wonder if a well selected grade 5 bolt would work instead of the pin.......all the pin does it push the scarifier up against the front of the opening. But I digress.......

My LP BB1560 has scarifier pins like the King Kutter and Tarter in the above photos. It's a 2017 model Land Pride BB1560.

No doubt a better design. That all being said, the silly little spring pin things haven't failed me yet.

(until I typed that......I better go check they probably failed)

Clips are easy with a pair of channel locks. Just lift up and squeeze and hold it until the scarifiers are moved. Can do all of them in a minute or 2. The issue is you always need a tool with you...

We always seem to find ways to save time. When compared to years past, and now with the internet, we are growing leaps and bounds.
I like the clip idea for sure.

Just be careful with the channel locks & clips- I've had a couple slip out of the pliers & go "PING" and disappear and try to hide in the brush. I finally swapped the springs for "L" pins, no tools needed, quicker and harder to lose.

I thought about the one from Tractor Supply, then I purchased the Woods BSS60P model. I liked that the scarifies do not go through the tubing as seen in the attached picture. I have known some people that have broken the tubing and lost their clips too. Cost a little more but well worth it. It also has extra cross bracing for strength.
