Two problems:
L4330 with Woods 1012 loader; loader will go up but takes almost forever to come back down. Manual suggests faulty hose connection but disconnecting and reconnecting resulted in only one functional restoration and then the same problem recurred. Question: should I look at the control lever, the valve or replace hoses? (One hose may have a small leak as it is oily. A cloth cover prevents easy inspection of the hose within). Control lever is a single stick. Does not seem to want to push forward to drop the loader.

B1750 with Herd sander: unit will start, travel about 500 feet, then engine dies. May restart after bleeding fuel line, but usually the battery runs out before a successful restart. While I may need a battery, what do more experienced operators think is the problem? It has been cold here, 5-20 degrees F, but I had no problems last winter.

Any advice is appreciated.

Just a thought, check the filter/screen. Not sure where yours would be located, but always seems to be one of the replies for less than favorable hydraulic operations. Hope you find your problem.

Update:
No change on L4330 loader. Still goes up but will not come down. Backhoe works, loader bucket curls OK. Dealer suggested ice in spool valve but it is above freezing this morning and I ran a propane torch over the cap to the valve and water on the outside evaporated so presumably ice on the inside would have melted. No change. I have bought new filters but am reluctant to change them since the backhoe works and the tractor moves. Would not a clogged filter affect more than loader drop?

B1750: fuel filter clogged with brown crap. Replaced battery and fuel filter. It ran. Fuel filter has metal case so monitoring is not easy.

Update:

B1750: ice in fuel filter. Cleaned out and installed new filter.

L4330: advice: don't force the joystick, wait until the oil is warmed up. I broke the control cable right off. Oops!
