Greetings!
LX2620HSDC.
I'm looking forward to using my tractor for clearing snow this winter.
The room around the rear tires is tight between the fenders and side walls.
Has anybody been successful at putting on chains?
Even the salesman said to be careful.
How about the screw-in studs? Any good?
A Happy Fourth of July to all!
Todd

Similar issue with the BX2380. When I looked at the models sitting on the dealer's lot it looked like plenty of space. Added 2" wheel spacers for hopefully improved stability. Side fender space is not an issue. After taking delivery discovered on the user right side fender towards the front. The area below the FEL/3rd function control stick is a protective plate. R4s. I can get my hand knuckles into the space with minimal extra clearance. Guessing enough room for smaller link style chains. Probably not the ones with barb like projections.

People here note to mount chains with slightly under inflated tires. Snug down the chains and re-inflate for a nice firm fit. Great simple, practical advice.

Had a compact NH. BX is couple sizes down. Assuming chains would be less bulky and heavy for the tiny wheels on the BX. But leaning to iGrip S series studs. S have a shoulder to reduce the chance of pushing the studs in deeper if driving over rocky terrain during the non-snow seasons. Which are my conditions. BX R4s only have ~14mm deep ribs on the rear tires. Unsure how much tire thickness is below the ribs. Something to consider if studding.

My impression is that chains would be the way to go for best traction. Some here have noted front chains can be an issue on the BX. Hope is studding all four tires will make up for less traction than chains on rear only. Having steering and drive traction will be nice.

I have a LX2610 Cab with R14's bought new in 2022. Moved some serious snow and never needed chains. Or studs.

R14s are good for snow... if that is what you have.

GP Outdoors has a good video of his need and choice for tire chains. I have R14's on my LX3310 and find them great in the snow but I also have flat ground.
