Hello,
Looking for a tiller for L3540 and would like to know what size would be best. General garden tilling and breaking up some new ground.

I use a 60" King Kutter II heavy duty gear drive with my L3010 with 26hp @ PTO and no problems. It takes out all but about 3 inches of wheel track on one side. on new ground I run 2-3" deep first pass to strip off sod then full depth after that. Works great for me.

I use a 62" bushhog tiller behind my L3000 (27 pto hp) without any problem no matter what the soil is like. No problems with the bushhog but if I did it again I would buy a King Kutter. Much heavier tiller for around the same money.

After being around several different brands and quality levels my advise is this. The tiller you look at and say, "it looks pretty good and it's half the price of a bushhog or KK brand." Stay away from that one. 10 or 15 yrs down the road the bushhog or KK will still be going strong. You will be happy you spend a few extra dollars.

I think I paid $1400 for my KK on sale this past spring. That was 1k less than the land pride I considered. I'm very satisfied with mine.
