Hey all, I am looking to put a hydraulic thumb on my new to me L47 with a bt1000b hoe.

It has a 7K527-8506 (N1 6419) valve on it and I think that it has space/port on one end (left side in picture) for the additional thumb function/spool. Looking at the Kubota parts list https://kpad.kubota.com/books/589/figs/23136 leaves me totally confused. Does anybody know what I need or if this valve can even be used to add a thumb function/spool? Thanks in advance for any information.

I think I can figure out the peddle controls and the hoses ok as they look pretty straight forward if this valve is useable.

Possible thumb:
The Runser Custom Machining Kubota thumb https://www.runsercm.com/products/p/kubota-backhoe-l45-l47-l48-m62-thumb-kit would be by first choice (better price) except for the non greaseable main pin. To add a grease fitting at the end of the dipper looks like drilling thru 1"~ of steel then thru sleave/bushing with possible void somewhere in between, I fear too many things could go wrong.
So I am probably going to go with the Gentec PT215 thumb https://gentecequipment.com/hydraulic-pin-on-thumb-for-kubota-l35-2-tines/ as it comes with a greaseable main pin. Thanks for any thoughts or information.

Thanks Wolf

So I need all parts 10->120?

Parts 10->90 go in "B" assembled as shown? The rod with no part number that the pedal linkage hooks up to goes in "B" as shown from underneath the valve.

Parts 100->120 go into "A" and can be assembled in either direction?

Am I anywhere near correct in my thinking? Thanks

Please keep us updated how it works out. I would be interested in doing that to mine for the right price. I already have a thumb. Just need to get the equipment to make it hydraulic from manual. I have a feeling the thumb will be like the backhoe you’ll hardly ever use it, but you gotta have it.😂

Other than just playing with it, I still haven't had a good reason to use mine yet. It is more annoying that it leaks down enough that I have to move it back up, out of the way.

The hydraulic thumb is the best thing since sliced bread and I would never buy an excavator or BH without one. I use mine about as much as the bucket. Great for grabbing rocks, logs, trees, roots, pulling t-bar fence posts,…

A ripper and thumb is a fantastic combo.

I was hoping to stay under $3k but I think that number is out the window. Were on a small farm and use the BH weekly or so, never had a thumb but plenty times I think it would have been nice to have. Will post accumulated cost if I proceed with thumb.

I am hoping to get good use of it, but I have never had one, so time will tell.

As long as this does not get too complicated or pricey I will give it a go. Yes plenty logs, trees, roots and other stuff around here.

Have you considered a solenoid valve with pushbuttons on one stick? Same kit as a third function, just installed on the backhoe.

The way I see it you would need the spool for the auxiliary function to use on a thumb. The diagram does not show a part number for this and is not included in one of the assembly of parts listed. See image 1794091498853.png

Looking at your pics it appears your valve is the standard valve with out the option for the auxiliary spool. It appears to have the plugs shown below which would more likely have the dummy spool installed
