That’s definitely a bad day.

Part 2 for any interested in the explanation of cause and outcome.

I want to know the rest of the rest of the story. K said it was no longer usable? WTH?!? I figured they were built better than that. Unless it ingested water, there shouldn't be an issue other than some bolt on parts

A few years ago a son of a buddy of mine in my home town bought some lots with old house's on them and they were cleaning up and hauling the houses out with a trackhoe and a skid steer and the top on a old steel septic tank gave way and his skid steer went in the tank just like the video. He shut it off right away and they had no damage to the skid steer. They put central sewer in that town close to sixty years ago and most of the old tanks were just left.

If water was ingested into a running engine that could cause hydraulic lock and bend connecting rods which could then damage cylinders...there's a whole lot that can go wrong quickly when ingesting water.

Realize too all the operator knows is "the ground went soft" not "there's a sinkhole under me!" much less one filled with water. From the limited report the operator might not have been in the machine when it sunk.

Fortunately KTAC replaced the machine with a new one in about 2 weeks!

Huh?? That's exactly what I said about ingesting water. Unless it did, which we don't know, there shouldn't really be much damage.
