Super UDT vs UDT Fluid

I'm sure this had been addressed here before, did a search, couldn't find anything.
What is the difference, and which of the 2 should I use in my ZD331, Super or regular UDT?

You can read about the two on Kubota's web site BY CLICKING HERE. I won't recommend
what you should use as that choice is up to you. But I will say I use Super UDT2 in my L4701.

I use Super UDT2 on my tractor but UDT is fine for a mower.

Find out what was shipped in it from the factory and use that.

My 1996 M4700 was shipped with Super UDT (which has been superceded by Super UDT2) so that’s what I use. If your Kubota was shipped after 1995 I imagine it was the same. Don’t know when Kubota began using Super, but before that was UDT.
UDT is a mineral-oil-base hyd-fluid and Super UDT/Super UDT2 are synthetics (according to the anecdotal info from my Kubota dealer who believes either is fine down South where it never gets frigid but recommends Super up “Nawth”. I think he’s a bit too “bubba” so I found out what it came with and use that.

My ZD331 is a late 2010, but it won't be used in any cold weather.

In Canada it is more confusing as Super UDT has a new name.....Premium UDT.

It’s less confusing in Canada because Premium UDT is the only Kubota fluid you can buy.

I use Super UDT2 on my tractor but UDT is fine for a mower.

I use universal tractor fluid in my old L2900 gear drive tractor, have never had any issues. I was concerned about the expensive hydros on my new to me ZD331, have heard some horror stories about those, looking to prevent that. Has 600 hours on it, operates flawlessly. Figured I'd do a complete major service to keep it that way. Ordered a 5 gallon bucket of Super UDT2.

You are very right about UTF. It seemed back then everyone used it.

My L3200 came with Super UDT but when I went to change it the dealer only had UDT and Super UDT2, so guess what I used.
