I removed the left side steering linkage (drag linkage) as part of the front axle case oil seal replacement. The split pin and castellated nut was removed from the drag linkage easily. However, during installation of the castellated nut the drag linkage threaded stud spins in place and the nut cannot be tightened appropriately. Not sure why, because the threaded stud didn’t spin during removal. At this point, the nut is only a couple thread revolutions in, can’t be removed and can’t be tightened. Advice?? TIA. ~Brian

You need to get something like a 2 x 4 to force down on the top of the joint to build up friction between the tapered pin and the tapered hole it fits in.

If the nut is hard to turn, first concentrate on removing the nut and cleaning up the threads before reinstalling the nut and tightening it.
