Now that I have my b1750 working I'm looking ahead to snowblowing. I have a 48" Argo trend that worked good on my old b6100,but thinking the b1750 could handle a bit more,at least 54" ,or maybe 60",or should I stick with the 48"?

I'd stay with the 48 inch blower as long as it is rated for your hp it covers your tracks. You can shift up but if you get big drifts the narrow one will work better.

I have a 54" on my 1860 which has similar PTO HP to yours and it works great. Your machine is actually heavier than mine so you have that going for you. I would absolutely go with the 54". You'll have plenty of HP to cut all 54" into a pile of snow.

Here's a few of videos of mine in action:

Defiantly throws a long way,why do you use the back blade? Are you keeping the blower up to avoid throwing gravel?

The BX5450 Snowblower is only 50" wide... not 54". ;-)

You are correct, I mixed it up. Model 5450...I had a 50/50 chance of picking the right two numbers that reference the size and failed ;)

To answer the other question, my driveway is paved but my elderly neighbors is dirt so I keep the blower up an inch or so on his and use the blade to clean up behind me.

I also use it on mine as it does a nice job of catching anything that the blower missed since it sticks out a few inches more on each side.

Have you done the math? ie if your 48" blower will clear your driveway in 4 passes, will a 54" blower clear it in 3? or a 60"? I have a distinct bias towards more power and less width when it comes to snowblowers, so keep that in mind while reading my comments, but if you have a short, wide driveway, a wider pass might save you some turning around. On the flip side, Blizzardo Diablo could have you wishing for a higher power to width ratio. A narrower blower can get into tighter spots as well.
