I liked Hooper’s reversible idea. Like he said, they would be turned 180 degrees. You still need to keep the countersink locations on the bottom.

I beveled edges fore and aft for rotating. Need to work on my ugly modified shoes next to get them cleaned up, etc. before drilling.

I’m going to try just 2 bolts per shoe....I also found some 5/16” home instead of 3/8”.... I like the lesser countersink needed.....hmm...time for a beer....

We shall see....
Cleaned shoes up a little. Paint is drying. These will be attached when they’re dry.

Done.
I probably recessed the heads more than I should. Wanted to allow some wear before they are exposed, like Jeff mentioned. I still have 1/4-1/3 of the total thickness, but I didn’t need to go that deep with the countersink.

Time will tell. If they survive, they are reversible, which Yooper suggested.

You are just fine with them being that deep.
Coming from you, gives me some optimism.

They are really on there solid. Stuck a little pry bar in, and there isn't any give. That UHMW is tough stuff. It does work better when frozen.

There will be a lot of force on them front-to-back, not as much up/down (I think)...but 2 mounting points might be an issue.

I give them a 50% chance....maybe 53%....:p

For $27 or so, I had fun doing them, and have enough stuff to make 2 more!:D

When I did the extensions, I painted them orange instead of black. Figured easier to find in the snow if they self-destructed...:p

Those are still going strong, but I did fix a couple cracked welds on the bottom strapping, which were real bad from the get-go.

Thanks Yooper and Jeff - appreciate the help/advice!

For what it’s worth, I ran out of Chevy Engine Red....TSC didn’t have it, but tried this Majic paint from there.

They list it as “new” Kubota Orange. Pretty close with grey primer, and my hood isn’t clean.

You should be fine with the two bolts, UHMW is very tough stuff!
You can always add two more bolts along the center line, if you use the same bolt pattern they can be indexed 90 deg!
