We got our first significant snow fall and I spent way to much time pushing it around with w FEL. I'm looking at getting a Farm King snowblower. The specs for the 50" call for a tractor with 15-30 HP and weighs in at 422 lbs. I found a used, almost new one for considerable less but it's a 60". The specs for the 60" are 20 -40 HP and weighs in at 470lbs.

Am I pushing my limits with the 60" running it with a BX 2370? Any one else running a 60" blower without problems?

Thanks.

I would think it will work, I run the Kubota 5455HD on the front of my BX25D and no real snow to test (6") but it worked great on that.

See if you can give it a try first, should be a snow bank to test with.

Good luck and nice to see another from MN on OTT.

I also have a BX5455HD (54") on a BX2370, I would not go bigger. Last year in 6" snow I ran in high gear at near full speed. I finally got a test this year with 10" of heavy snow. Low range at just above a crawl, I would vary the travel speed as the engine would lug down. I would guess travel speed averaged 2 mph as I maintained engine rpm between 2800 and 3200 rpm. With a bigger blower you could make more passes and only use half the blower, but your first pass will really be slow.

I have a 50" Farm King on my bx2350. Just blew 9" of snow yesterday. Very nice blower. Should handle 60" if you aren't talking 12" snows and in a hurry. We had ice and wind with the last snow so it was hard packed.

I'm used to my old front mounted snow blower on my lawn tractor that would scrape to asphalt as I had it set. I don't have the farm king set to do that, so I have to clean up with loader. Probably going to adjust to get a closer blow. We have a 60" on our 850 JD 25hp gear tractor. Deep snow is too much for it. HST would make a world of difference. The blower itself sit outside all year, rarely taken good care of by the "pool boy". Very little to go wrong.

I have the Kubota 54" (who knows who made it) on my 2360. Just have to adjust you speed of the tractor to depth an how heavy the snow is. I think with your unit adjusting to the snow you'll have no problem. Have fun with it.

I have a farm King 60" rear mount an my bx2350, have no problem running it.As others have said in deep snow just go slower.Last year several times I had snow at the end of the driveway deeper then the snow blower is high.Just have to go thought with the blower raised.

Good luck as sometimes the snow gets deep in Minnesota. Blowing snow in reverse kinda sucks though. I was using a 1971 Bolens with a front blower for twenty years and updated to a 2002 BX22 also with front blower and can't believe the big improvement from a 2 stage and 5 more hp and the diesel to top the cake. Also from Minnesota. Aaron

I did the same thing, Bolens Garden Tractor with front blower for 30 years. Worked great for my 100 foot concrete driveway. Did not even consider bringing it with me to clear 1/4 mile of woodland driveway with a 40 foot hill plus around house and garage. Since I have a 1/4 mile driveway I do have a front blower on my BX2370.
