What is the difference between the bX 2816 blower and the bx 5450 blower?

Friend has the BX5450 on his BX25 and I have the BX2816 on my BX2380

He has a different " rubber cutting " edge it looks like- Mine looks steel and orange his is rubber and black? Is that a upgrade? Also the shoes on the side are different I think? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

The unit he has is a previous series which with the correct mid pto/subframe works on 50, 60 and 70 series with 23 or 26 hp.

Yours is designed for the newest series 80 series BX's

I have the same blower model. It has rubber shoes on the side and a rubber cutting edge. My dealer also gave me the steel cutting edge, but said the rubber would be better for the asphalt driveway. I think you should have been given both with the purchase of your snowblower unit.
