Haven't had the problem so far this snow season; however, I know it is going to happen, as it does every year. What do you do to prevent the dreaded chute clogging issue?

Carnuba wax, like for a surfboard. Basically keep the chute (the whole blower really) rust free and painted and waxed, if there's nothing for the snow to stick to it doesn't.

Park in a heated garage. Don't blow wet slush/snow, wait for the temperature to drop overnight.

My old blower had a square chute and it had lots of plugging issues. I sold it and bought an old Lucknow blower with a round chute and it doesn't clog.

Experiment this season. WD40 v. RejeX. Sprayed the box with WD40 and applied RejeX in the chute. Either the WD40 did not adhere to the box or it just doesn't work. With any wetter snow the box has a coating of snow adhering between it and the auger. Chute is free of any snow and still black mirror shiny from the RejeX. Snow in the box is not an issue. Constipated chute would be. Final opinion will be determined after the first real wet, slushy snowfall.

Use RejeX, a micro polymer "wax" that binds to the surface on the sailboat hull. Outside of a deep shine, the water beads up like a very high quality wax and requires minimal effort to remove any end of season water scum that adheres below the waterline. Requires a clean, dry, and not too warm surface for max adherence and durability.

I have used FluidFilm.
End of the season I will paint whatever surface has been taken down to bare metal.

As others have stated:
wet heavy snow will clog it
slow down
observe your chute. usually one way is a more direct shot than the other, when possible use that direction if the snow quality is poor.
