Side discharge or rear discharge?

I have a BX2670, two years old with FEL, quick connect bucket and snow plow blade and MMM. Only used th MMM the first year because I also have a King Kutter finish mower. I like it better than the MMM. The only thing I don't like about the finish mower is that the grass gets packed under the deck so at times. The MMM does it also even worse. What I was thinking about doing is removing the baffles under the RMM so it is a rear discharge it seems that is the only difference with the new finish mowers. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge?

If you can, check out the underside of a rear discharge to see what needs to be done. Should be a pretty moderate mod.

I can agree with you, the rear discharge is the way to go. If the grass is real tall, you are left with a nice neat row to rake. Haven't had one issue with my finish mower clogging.

Coworker had a 60" zero turn with a side discharge. If the grass was really tall he was fighting with the chute clogging.

There is more difference than just the baffles with the rear vs. side discharge decks. Look at different decks. You may be able to modify the deck and get it to work. I doubt it will be satisfactory. It sounds like you'd be better off getting another deck.
