Don't remember the grade required on the Driveline and uni shear bolts, but they were definitely harder than Gr2. Threads did extend to the shear plane on one side of the driveline and the uni single shear plane. Once permanently removing the guard that covered the driveline shear pin area the need for using a punch was no big deal. The uni. Was a pita. Made a point to stock up an excessive inventory of real shear pins after a couple drill outs. Of course then I rarely sheared that pin and now have traded in the Loftness for a blower sized for the BX. Added the pins to the tackle box of odds and ends bolts and screws.

I had a Grade 8 in my impeller on my BX2750D and when it went it sounded like a .22 shot.
The LandPride snowblower purchased with the BX has what I thought was a misprint in the manual impeller shear bolt. Not a misprint. 50mm Cl1.6.6 made in Italy shear bolt. Thought the 6.6 was a misprint of gr8.8. Kubota Italian shear bolts. Price was reasonable, but only available in a 5 pack. Beats sticking a 8.8 and maybe hearing a 223 v. 22 round coming from your impeller or worse.
