I've bought a lot of carbs off of Ebay for many different applications. Only one gave me trouble. It flooded when the fuel was turned on. However, the box looked like someone used it for soccer practice, definitely not the fault of the manufacturer. A reset on float height and the carb worked fine.

Ebay carbs are hit or miss with quality, but you can buy like 25 of them for that 800 so you're bound to get a good one in the bunch.

I have several Ebay carbs on various machines, they are fine.

Its a carburetor for a run of the mill 15hp Kohler (now Rehlko) CV16 lawn mower engine.

There are many sources other than eBay for inexpensive aftermarket replacements.

If you need that warm fuzzy feeling you can buy a genuine OEM replacement from a Rehlko distributor for $200.

Reminds me of 'rush job' to replace carb on a Honda 9HP for a mason. Dealer wanted $265 for carb, gasket was $15. So.... I grabbed the one off a BNIB 'clone' I had sitting on the shelf. Started 2nd pull ( forgot to turn gas on..). Guy was super happy I got him 'up and running', so $400 cash. Months go by.... need the 9HP engine, hmm, no carn, oh yeh, NOW I remember where it went, ordered replacement carb, $22.
