I have a RTV 1140 and it seems like it's stuck in gear. The rear wheels won't turn, the engine runs, but the machine won't move. Front wheels are free. Any ideas?
Yes to both. Bed will raise and lower too.Does the gear selector move ? Will the engine rev up when you step on the throttle ?
No, the front end won't go into gear. It does roll freeIf you put it in 4 wheel drive will it move ? Something may have broken in the rear end, but if it is in 4x4 the front end will move the machine.
Yes,it moves and the engine revs normally.Does the gear selector move ? Will the engine rev up when you step on the throttle ?
OK, I'll check that. I figured out the rear wheels. The Diff Lock was bent and couldn't release properly. I figured that out. Now Ill check the pressure release. When I put it in gear, it moves just the tiniest bit. But it won't actually drive. That could be the pressure release. The RTV1140 has a hydraulic pressure release activated when you step on the brake.
Its on the very back and right side of the transmission under the hydraulic filter.
Could be the thing is out of adjustment or stuck.
Also check all linkages and cables (including up front thru to the back) for rust and crud making it difficult To move. Make sure things are lubricated.
There are adjustment processes in the service manual.
