So, I know that this probably seems like a bizarre question, but how "finished" is the cut of a rough cut mower? I need one for some of the work around the place, but also have a lawn to contend with-the lawn is far from "golf green manicured".

The term "beat it into submission" comes to mind :D usually it will be several different lenghs. The slower you go, the better it looks

I'd rather ask "How tuff is a finish mower?? Pretty darn tuff, and you get a nice lawn where you want it.
I'd never use my brush hog on the lawn. It would be a mess.

Agri-72 mower like a bush hog. I added two casters to front and used a rigid hitch on my old 40 hp cockshutt.it followed like a 3 point and cut like a rough cut. For keeping grass down its fine.

Ran a rough cut 72" offset mower, its a heavy duty ball hitch tow behind. That thing was as hard to pull around as my car hauler trailer. Was a chore where there was lots of obstacles.

I found a 5' finish mower for kubota, jury's still out on that one.
